W. Kopcke: Zwischenauswertungen und Vorzeitiger Abbruch Von Therapiestudien

Als 1980 im Rahmen des Programms der Bundesregierung "Forschung und Entwicklung im Dienste der Gesundheit" die ersten Therapie studien durch das Bundesministerium fUr Forschung und Techno logie gefordert wurden, begann eine langdauernde Diskussion zwischen Biostatistikern, Klinikern, Juristen und Ministerial beamten Uber den Fragenkomplex "PatientenaufkUirung, Zwischen auswertungen und vorzeitiger Studienabbruch." Diese im wesent lichen von den Juristen initiierte Diskussion zeigte die Notwendigkeit, biostatistische Verfahren bereitzustellen bzw. neu zu entwickeln, die den juristischen und ethischen Anfor derungen fUr Therapiestudien besser gerecht werden. Diese Arbeit, die die Uberarbeitete Version meiner Habilitations schrift (1982) darstellt, hat zum Ziel bekannte statistische Verfahren fUr den Problembereich - Zwischenauswertungen und Studienabbruch - aufzugreifen und darzustellen. DarUberhinaus werden neue Verfahren entwickelt, die den Gegebenheiten, die bei der Planung, DurchfUhrung und Auswertung von Therapiestudien oft entstehen, besser angepaBt sind. Mein Dank gilt zunachst Prof. Dr. K. Uberla, der das Entstehen dieser Arbeit maBgeblich initiiert und gefordert hat. Prof. Uberla ist es in den zehn Jahren meiner Institutszugehorigkeit immer wieder gelungen aktuelle Fragestellungen aufzugreifen. DarUberhinaus hat er es verstanden seine Beharrlichkeit und seinen Enthusiasmus auf seine Mitarbeiter zu Ubertragen. IV Prof. Dr. H.-J.
